The exhibition presents the journey of Jan Schindler (born 1971) through the world of engraved glass from his very beginnings in 1992 to the present. On display are his school works from the Secondary School of Glass Arts in Železný Brod, as well as commercial works created between 1995 and 2019.

However, the focus of the entire show is the author's engraved glass, which reveals his close, albeit strange, relationship to the technique of glass engraving and, in fact, to glass as such. In his free work, Jan Schindler uses commonly available utility glass, preferably drinking glass. He does not avoid glass objects with manufacturing defects, one could even say that he seeks them out, or uses waste objects and gives them a second life. The author does not consider these objects, treated with his engraving, as untouchable works of art, but rather approaches them with rational civility. Jan Schindler, a native of Turnov, living and working in Jablonec nad Nisou and teaching in Železný Brod, aims to rehabilitate the technique of engraving on glass in competition with the industrial techniques of sandblasting and etching.
