The large-format Nativity scene

The technically complex work was created in the workshop over several months and was preceded by many tests in the form of the time and curve of melting, the thickness of the glass, the kiln settings and so on. For this work, one must be not only a talented artist, but also partly a physicist and chemist, because glass, as a constantly living material, has its own specifics and can sometimes behave erratically. However, everything was done to perfection and we now have a unique nativity scene in front of us. Both in its workmanship and size.

On THURSDAY 28th August from 3 to 5 pm you will have the chance to meet Jiřina Tauchmanová in the Christmas House and she will tell you the story of her glass and how the large-format glass Nativity scene was created.
