8:00 p.m. Glass as a Gift – Panel Discussion

How can glass benefit people, public spaces, and communities? The answer will be revealed in the “Glass as a Gift” program, organized by the Preciosa Foundation as part of the prestigious Crystal Valley Week 2026 festival.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., the exhibition opening will take place at Gallery 101010, and on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 8:00 p.m., a follow-up conference and panel discussion will begin at the local church.

The event’s title captures the project’s core idea: glass need not be merely a beautiful product or a symbol of regional tradition. It can also be a tool for helping others. We want to show the public, companies, and non-profit organizations that philanthropy need not rely solely on financial donations, but also on what every company does best—its own know-how, craftsmanship, creativity, and ability to create value.

“We are convinced that a company has a natural responsibility toward the place where it operates. That is where its employees and their families live, and when people in the region are doing well, companies thrive as well,” says Andrea Kroupová, director of the Preciosa Foundation.

An exhibition mapping more than three decades of the Preciosa Foundation’s activities will be on display at Galerie 101010. Visitors will see concrete examples of how glass helps. We will present glass products that have been transformed into aid for others, as well as projects supporting the glass industry and the enhancement of public spaces.

The evening will feature an open discussion on philanthropy in the region

The second part of the Preciosa Foundation’s program at CVW will be an evening panel discussion at the church in Vratislavice, where representatives from foundations and public administration will meet with other relevant guests. The discussion will focus on why it makes sense to help and where, which support models work in the region, and which ones, conversely, no longer do. We will also touch on corporate culture and social responsibility, ensuring they are sustainable, meaningful, and motivating. The goal of the meeting is to share experiences and inspiration.

“Glass as a Gift” thus promises to be an interesting and unconventional part of this year’s Crystal Valley Week.
