We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition Nature in Glass, Glass in Nature, which showcases the unique fusion of the delicate art of glassmaking and the vibrant beauty of the botanical garden. Friday at 6 p.m. at the Liberec Botanical Garden.
The exhibition "Nature in Glass, Glass in Nature" presents a unique fusion of the delicate art of glassmaking and the vibrant beauty of the botanical garden.
The Liberec Botanical Garden will host an exhibition of works by local glass artists, inspired by the shapes, textures, and colors of the flora and fauna.
Visitors can look forward to a harmonious dialogue between nature and art, where glass becomes both a reflection of and a part of nature. The installation sensitively integrates into the garden environment, highlighting the natural connections between the material and nature.
The exhibition invites visitors to pause, observe the details, and discover the fragile beauty that connects human creativity with the natural world.

Monday, August 24 – Anna Hanková (a student at SUPŠS Železný Brod, specializing in glass engraving and relief glass) will present demonstrations of glass engraving. A workshop for all ages will also be offered, where visitors can have text or small motifs engraved as desired. The sale of engraved glass is also part of the program.
Tuesday, August 25 – Sandblasting – Daniela Divišová will introduce visitors to the traditional technique of glass decoration in her sandblasting workshop. You can create your own stencil or use a pre-prepared design and try your hand at sandblasting. Workshop for all ages. The program also includes the sale of sandblasted glass.
Wednesday, August 26 – Urbanglass – Eva and Karel Urban will demonstrate working with a glass torch; visitors can try it themselves and take home their first original piece or have a small souvenir made to their specifications. The program also includes the sale of Urbanglass products, glass figurines, flowers, and jewelry.
August 27, Thursday – University of Applied Sciences for Glass and Nový Bor Secondary School – Master engraver Lubomír Žúbor will lead a workshop on glass engraving. The school also offers visitors the option to have monograms engraved to order; in addition, they will have the opportunity to try out the technique of glass engraving using a diprofil. There will also be a sale of school products.
August 28, Friday – Glass Art Martina Josífek – Glass artist and mosaic artist Martina Josífek Zelinková will introduce you to the techniques of glass mosaic and Tiffany stained glass. Under her guidance, you will create your own original piece, which you can take home with you. The program also includes a sale of handmade micromosaic jewelry and glass decorations.
August 29, Saturday – Glass Jewelry – Glass artist Marcela Růžičková will demonstrate her work with a glass torch. Children ages five and up can look forward to a workshop on crafting with glass components. Original glass jewelry will be on sale.
The Liberec Botanical Garden is one of the most important botanical gardens in the Czech Republic. Visitors can explore 10 pavilions featuring tropical and subtropical plants, extensive outdoor exhibits, aquariums, and terrariums. The garden manages two national collections—one of carnivorous plants and, most recently, one of tillandsias—which rank among the most significant collections of their kind in the Czech Republic. The orchid collection is also extensive; neither the unique Czech butterwort nor the world’s largest water lily, the Queen Victoria water lily, is missing.
