Opening of an exhibition by Šárka Bartko, a glass artist and teacher at the glass school in Kamenický Šenov

Be inspired by the work of this Nový Bor-based artist in the exhibition space in the foyer of the Liberec Regional Authority building.

Šárka Bartko, who is known for her original glass jewellery, also presents a different aspect of her work in her new exhibition. ‘Coordinates of Silence’ features glass objects that combine painting on glass with motifs of maps, surveying symbols and landscapes. The artist experiments with drilling, grinding, gluing, cutting and fusing glass to create original objects with striking colours and a distinctive artistic style.

The opening will also include a selection of jewellery by Šárka Bartko.

On 3 August at 4.00 pm, alongside the exhibition Coordinates of Silence, we will also be launching another exhibition, A Look Back at Crystal Valley Week 2025, which presents a selection of photographs capturing the most interesting moments from last year’s edition of the largest Czech festival of glass, jewellery and costume jewellery. The exhibition also serves as an invitation to this year’s festival, subtitled ‘Connecting Cultures’. The photographs are by Petr Zbranek (AZ fotky).

Admission to both exhibitions is FREE and they run until 2 September 2026.
