Guided tour of the exhibition with Jan Schindler, glass engraver and educator

The exhibition showcases the work of students and instructors from the glassmaking schools in Kamenický Šenov and Železný Brod, who use engraved glass to interpret architecture and its details.

The tour will also include a live demonstration of glass engraving and an opportunity to gain insight into the process behind the creation of these unique works.

ARCHITECTURE AS A THEME

The exhibiting artists will draw inspiration for their work from the architecture of the Liberec Region. The exhibition will therefore feature works inspired not only by architecture itself, but also by artifacts and phenomena connected to architecture in some way.

UNIQUE GLASSMAKING SCHOOLS, A ONE-OF-A-KIND TECHNIQUE

The Liberec Region is home to the most significant building of the century in our country, as well as two glassmaking schools that are the last in the world to teach the technique of glass engraving as the main focus of their students’ four-year program. It is precisely these two circumstances that should inspire the exhibitors to create extraordinary works connected to our region not only by the common theme of architecture, but also by the technique of glass engraving, which has made our region famous and is still at home here.
