YOUNG GLASS SYMPOSIUM at MUZA | North Bohemian Museum in Liberec
We invite you to MUZA | North Bohemian Museum in Liberec for a guided tour of the YOUNG GLASS SYMPOSIUM exhibition, which presents the world of glass through the eyes of the youngest generation of artists. Discover this unique project that combines children’s imagination, the craft of glassmaking, and contemporary art as part of Crystal Valley Week, the largest glass festival in the Czech Republic.
The exhibition showcases the results of the unique YGS | Children’s Glass Symposium project, which brings together talented young artists from arts schools across the Czech Republic with experienced glass artists and artisans. Visitors to the exhibition will see original works created through a collaborative creative dialogue between the artists and the children.
Jakub Jelínek, director of the Secondary School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Kamenický Šenov, will lead you on a guided tour. He will discuss not only the project itself, but also the process behind the creation of the exhibited works and the importance of supporting the younger generation for the future of Czech glassmaking—on Thursday, August 27, at 3:00 p.m.
Come see how inspiring the combination of children’s creativity and the mastery of the glassmaking craft can be. Perhaps you’ll discover the future stars of Czech glass art right here.
The ambassador and artistic patron of the Children’s Glass Symposium is the renowned Czech fashion designer Professor Liběna Rochová.
While at the museum, be sure to visit the museum tower, which features the world’s longest glass staircase by the Salanský brothers, and the exhibition “Architecture Engraved in Glass” in the entrance hall.
