"Nature in Glass, Glass in Nature" Exhibition at the Botanical Garden

We invite you to the oldest municipal botanical garden in the Czech Republic for a festival exhibition that fosters a harmonious dialogue between nature and art. Glass becomes both a reflection of nature and an integral part of it. Come to the opening on Friday, August 21, starting at 6 p.m.

The exhibition “Nature in Glass, Glass in Nature” presents a unique fusion of the delicate art of glassmaking and the living beauty of the botanical garden, and will run through September 30.

Amid rare plants, you’ll see works by glass artists from all corners of the Crystal Valley, inspired by the shapes, textures, and colors of flora and fauna.

The installation blends sensitively into the garden setting, highlighting the natural connections between the material and nature.

You can look forward, for example, to works by prominent artists—the husband-and-wife team Miluše and René Roubíček. We extend our sincere thanks to Michaela Lesařová-Roubíčková for lending these pieces.

The Botanical Garden will also feature works by glass artist Jiří Pačinek, leading Czech glass artist and designer Lukáš Jabůrek in collaboration with the AJETO glassworks, and nearly two dozen other artists.

The exhibition invites visitors to pause, appreciate the details, and discover the delicate beauty that connects human creativity with the natural world.

It will showcase a range of glassmaking techniques—from cutting, engraving, and tempering glass to working in the glassworks and at the blowpipe. The exhibition is curated by Lenka Patková.

Admission to the exhibition is included in the regular admission price to the Botanical Garden.
