Glassmakers give glass another use

Glassmakers from Desná give glass a new dimension and use. Glass and plants go together. Glass fertilizer!

But glass doesn't melt, so what exactly is glass fertiliser?

In essence, it really is glass, but not the kind we are used to in everyday life (glasses, bottles, jars, etc.). It is a glass that has completely different bonds in its structure than the commonly used soda-potassium glass. This allows for a gradual decomposition that results in the dissolution of bound substances such as potassium, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. It is the structure of the glass that causes the gradual dissolution over several years.

The fertilizer is intended for fertilizing long-term plantings in urban environments - extensive and intensive green roofs, perennial beds, mobile greenery, avenue trees and other plantings. It is also suitable for small gardeners, especially those interested in sustainable cultivation.
